CANADA HONEYMOON TIPS

Are you looking for the perfect places to visit on your honeymoon in Canada? Having visited in both the summer and the winter, I’ve experienced the most amazing places in the hot sun and covered in snow - both incredible!

My first trip to Canada was during the summer, I spent a few weeks road tripping from Vancouver to Calgary and back exploring the mountains and incredible blue lakes covered by the sun. This would make an excellent road trip for an adventurous newly married couple.

The first week was spent exploring the city day and night watching sunsets over the city from Stanley Park which would be incredibly romantic on your honeymoon. If you head into the middle if Stanley park, you will get to Beaver Lake which was so peaceful and full of nature. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a beaver!

Granville Island is a nice place to go and walk around if you want to visit some markets, see the harbour and take a boat trip, its a lovely place to just sit in the sun too with some food or drink. Gastown is one of the ‘must see’ places. It is so full of Character and is beautiful at nighttime.

If you’re looking to do some exploring, I would highly recommend a road trip to Whistler to explore more of the snowy mountains and the peak2peak gondola. The best part about the trip was stopping along the way to discover new places. I remember the first place I decided to stop was Murrin Provincial Park which was completely empty, no one around so perfect for photos. It soon became clear this was the case at pretty much all the stops. Also stopped at Porteau Cover provincial park, Alice lake (a favourite) Squamish and One mile lake. Each one had the most incredible scenery, frozen lakes surrounded by fog, forests and mountains. Couldn't waste the opportunity to stand on a frozen lake.. Risky but worth it!

If you’re looking for the perfect way to end your honeymoon, going up Grouse mountain is one of the best ways to do it. Whether you’re going to ski, climb up the mountain or just observe the views over Vancouver, it does not disappoint. If you head there in summertime, you will also get to see the resident bears which are amazing.
